Application Support Engineer

Job Description
To analyze, develop, administer, support, maintain, and deliver corporate applications to meet business requirements
Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information
  • English/Arabic is essential (Written and spoken)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience as analyst, development, application support, project management
  • Applications support and IT projects management. 
Responsibilities

 

  • Manages the new IT projects in cooperation with URC’s vendors/partners that fulfill business needs.
  • Analyzes business requirements and Perform business and systems analyses to identify the business/systems gap.
  • Implements the required applications to fill the missing business gaps.
  • Provides software application support and cross-functional coordination.
  • Ensures effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
  • Establishes the root causes of application errors and escalate serious concerns to vendor support.
  • Manages coordination at a local and international level where required.
  • Keeps a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.Monitors application performance metrics to ensure smooth application operations.
  • Provides front-end support to clients and colleagues in other departments.
  • Maintains and updates technical documents and procedures
  • Delivers regular and customized training to teams within the business
  • Prepares maintenance plans and upgrades schedules for the organization’s systems.
  • Supports users on the first level of issues and escalate it to the vendors for complex technical issues and guarantee to provide quick enhancements.
  • Identifies and implements the required interfaces between various applications to ensure the availability and integrity of data.
  • Defines security, backup, and recovery procedures for each system implemented.
  • Plans and coordinates the installation of new releases and upgrades of information systems and ensure that the migration of databases and programs is completed with minimal impact on business operations.
  • Creates and maintains all support documentation and all procedures according to technical standards for systems development, enhancements, and modifications.
  • Handles critical systems downtime with less affectivity for business processes.
  • Manages the vendors for all escalated issues ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Works as a project manager for the newly implemented applications.
